Whitley Bay Big Local
The Whitley Bay Big Local Partnership is a Big Lottery funded, community led initiative for all who live or work in the Big Local area to get together to improve their community. Anyone with an interest in Whitley Bay is very welcome to get involved. VODA is acting as the local trusted organisation, which means we manage the finance and admin on behalf of Big Local.

Partnership Board Recruitment
Whitley Bay Big Local currently has 3 places available on its Board, 2 for residents of the Big Local area, and 1 for a non resident. We are seeking applications from anyone in the community as a whole to fill these positions on a more permanent basis for 2 years from January 2015. An Expression of Intereste form is attached: Resident EOI, Non Resident EOI. Closing date for applications is 30 November 2014. We intend to announce the names of the new Board at our AGM on 8 January 2015.
Although previous experience of giving some sort of community support to family, friends or neighbours is useful for taking up a position on the WBBL Board, it is not essential. The Board works as a team and training and ongoing support is always provided. More important is that you have energy and enthusiasm for making Whitley Bay an even beter place to live, work and visit. Board members are expected to attend 4 Board meetings a year, 2 Community Forum meetings, and as many of our monthly 'Talking Shop' events as possible. We also try to ensure that Board members each have a specific area of responsibility.
