NCS Team Leaders
 
North Tyneside VODA is delivering the National Citizen Service programme to 150 young people aged 16-17 during the summer holidays. We require 20 committed youth workers with experience in delivering youth programmes to diverse groups of young people. Each team of 15 young people will be supported by two NCS Team Leaders to complete a four-week programme of local and residential activities.
 
The role will require strong communication skills and you must be able to negotiate challenging situations with young people. You will have a commitment to principles of social action projects, supporting young people to plan, deliver and evaluate their own community projects.

This role will involve a maximum of 190 hours of work paid at £12 per hour and is offered on a consultancy basis only. Organisations dealing with young people are also encouraged to apply.
 
Please submit a CV which should include:
  • Personal details;
  • Details of experience of working with young people;
  • Specific skills / qualifications / competencies (First Aid, Food Hygiene, etc);
  • DBS status – details of any recent checks (date and level of check);
  • Names of two referees, preferably senior managers, who have first hand knowledge of your work;
  • Any dates you are unable to work on the programme.

Tyneside Mind
37 hours per week, Newcastle
£24,982 pa

There is strong evidence of need of Mind services in Newcastle and the post holder will represent Tyneside Mind within the area, delivering, establishing and supporting services to Newcastle residents.

The post holder will also be a significant presence for Tyneside Mind within Mental Health Services and the Voluntary and Community Sector in Newcastle.

EMPOWERMENT WORKER
 
Tyneside Mind
21 hours per week, North Tyneside and Newcastle
£24,982 pa (pro rata)
The Empowerment Worker will support clients based in North Tyneside and Newcastle on a one to one basis to assist their engagement with Mind services, support them when engaging in opportunities outside of Mind and act as a catalyst for them to lead full and fulfilling lives.
