£22,221 for 37 hours per week (full time), post funded for one year by North Tyneside Council
Due to the nature of this post an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.
The Good Neighbours Project uses volunteers in North Tyneside to deliver neighbourly-type help to those who are vulnerable through disability, health or infirmity. Help is in the form of practical, hands-on activities such as tidying gardens, shopping, informal social interaction and conversation, accompanying beneficiaries to medical appointments, simple maintenance and household repairs, dog walking, clearing snow from paths in winter, putting out / retrieving rubbish bins, etc. We are now entering the second, expanded phase of this highly successful project and require an exceptional individual to help deliver valuable outcomes
To be successful in this post you will need to have experience of working with volunteers, including recruitment, training and monitoring, and supporting people with mental health issues. A relevant qualification in risk assessment, or a willingness to gain a qualification, is essential.
This is an ideal opportunity to help further develop a ground-breaking project that delivers practical, daily benefits to the people of North Tyneside. If you feel you can develop and expand the Good Neighbours Project please contact us for an application form:
