Developing a group
One of the roles of VODA's Development Team is to offer advice and
support to groups and organisations.
If you want to set up a group, we support you to:
- Explore what kind of group you want to set up
- Develop your group's constitution, set of rules or Memorandum
and Articles of Association
- Work together as a committee
- Find any contacts you need
- Plan your annual general meeting
- Develop policies and procedures
If you want to develop a group, we can help you:
- Register as a charity, community amateur sports club (CASC) or
charitable company
- Answer questions about charity law, employing a worker, or
setting up a trading arm
- Write a business plan
- To work more effectively as a group
- Plan for the future
- Develop partnerships with other organisations

Children's Workforce
Development Project
"If you have contact with children and young people in North
Tyneside, then you are part of the children's workforce and the
expectations and requirements of you are changing..."
The Children's Workforce
Development Council (CWDC) was set up in 2005 to implement the
Government's new agenda, Every Child Matters. As part of its Workforce
Strategy Partners Programme, CWDC has funded the appointment of VODA's
Children's Workforce Development Worker to support the Private,
Voluntary and Independent sector. This will involve organising a
training-needs analysis survey and the delivery of the following
training courses:
Child Protection
Recruitment & Selection
Common Core of Skills & Knowledge
