Community ICT Project

New ICT Helpline Launched
VODA is one of four organisations hosting the Circuit Riders North East project, which is co-ordinated by VONNE. This new, exciting scheme aims to help groups who are wrestling with the complexities of ICT strategies, budgets and maintenance, and assist with day-to-day computing and internet use. As part of Circuit Riders, VODA?s ICT project has launched a new telephone helpline for organisations experiencing non-emergency technical problems.

Open between 9am and 11am, Monday to Thursday, the number to call is 07875 935 148*.  VODA?s ICT Project
will also be organising a range of full and half-day workshops looking at imaginative ways that the voluntary organisations can use ICT. Click here to download a printable bookmark of the helpline number.

* Calls are charged at your telephone service provider?s mobile rates for Orange. If calls are likely to be lengthy, an alternate form of communication can be arranged.

Workforce Development Training

An exciting new training partnership between North Tyneside VODA and North Tyneside Council's Adult Learning Alliance has been developed to deliver workforce development ICT training in Community Learning Centres around the borough. This includes the delivery of ITQs to Voluntary and Community sector and council employees and volunteers.

This partnership follows on from the hugely successful Community Learning Centre Project, initiated and managed by VODA from 2001-2006, whereby over 3,000 members of the community registered for ICT skills, some gaining certificates for the very first time.

Vocality Project

The North Tyneside Arts and Crafts website www.ntaac.org.uk is now live and being used as a resource for tutors and learners in North Tyneside and way beyond. The website was a produce of North Tyneside VODA's Vocality Project, which aimed to introduce E-Learning to anybody who delivers training as part of their role.

Technical Support

The project provides technical assistance to over 20 Community Learning Centres in the Borough and advice is available to help new groups to determine their ICT needs.
