VODA produces a number of publications, which provide up to date and
relevant information to the voluntary and community sector working in
North Tyneside.

VODA News is a convenient, cost
effective way of promoting your organisation or service. Inserts

VODA Information Sheets:
A series of documents giving
information on a wide range of issues affecting voluntary and community

VODA Policies:
VODA's comprehensive list of policies and
procedures to ensure that we not only maintain high standards of
service, but to also ensure that the needs of our staff, volunteers and
users are considered.
VODA Annual Report:
Details our activities and achievements for 2006-2007 and indicates
our plans for 2008.
The Compact:
An agreement between the voluntary and community sector and local
government to improve their relationship for mutual advantage. For more

Compact News
The draft
Volunteering Code of Practice for The Compact is out for
consultation for the next 12 weeks. A copy of the document can be
downloaded here. Comments and responses on the draft should
be emailed to robin.fry@voda.org.uk
no later than the end of August.
To download a specific document, you need to click on the publication name. Many of
the documents are in PDF format (you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to
do this). Adobe also
provides a free plug-in for Acrobat 4 that makes PDF files accessible to
blind and visually impaired people. It can be downloaded from Adobe.

Resources
Health Check: A document for small groups to use to establish how much they
know about their organisation.
It will help to identify
where there may be gaps in knowledge and is only a simple matter of ticking
boxes.
Venue Audit:
This resource has been developed to provide details of venues that are available for community groups to hire
throughout the local area. The document is regularly updated, so
please keep checking for new places available.

Reference Library
The Reference Library is a valuable resource available to voluntary and
community groups. Its contents cover a wide range of issues including
voluntary organisation development and management, funding guides and
directories, employment law, volunteering, social issues and North
Tyneside statistics and reports.
The library is open 9am to 5om,
Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4.30om on Fridays. It is a comfortable
and quiet space, which gives you the opportunity to research and read in
peace!

there may be a
small fee, including:

- Low cost photocopying
