Draft Volunteering Code of Practice - Consultation Open
The Compact is the agreement made between the voluntary and community sector and the local government, to improve their relationship for mutual advantage.

 

A draft Volunteering Code of Practice for The Compact has recently been released for consultation. A copy of the draft can be downloaded here, and VODA are inviting the voluntary and community sector to submit their views.
If you have an comments on the draft Code, please email them to robin.fry@voda.org.uk by the end of August.

 

 

Draft Community Asset Transfer Policy -
consultation event

North Tyneside Council has produced a draft Community Asset Transfer Policy that outlines its policies on the transfer of assets to Third Sector Organisations. The document is now available to downloaded here, and a 12-week consultation period is open.

New training opportunity
In partnership with NAVCA, VODA is hosting a one day workshop which explores how to use the principles of
Public Law to challenge unjust and unfair decisions
made by Public Bodies. The workshop is being held
on Tuesday 23 September.

New ICT helpline launched

VODA's ICT project has launched a new telephone helpline for organisations experiencing non-emergency technical problems. Open between 9am and 11am, Monday to Thursday, the number to call is 07875 935 148*.

New Weekly Payroll Service
VODA is offering a new low-cost weekly payroll service
for all voluntary and community groups in North Tyneside.

The service can cover all payroll and year-end requirements.
