Quality Assurance

New NAVCA
Quality Award
VODA has been awarded the NAVCA Quality
Award - it is a specially designed award for local infrastructure organisations who
deliver services to the local VCS.
The award is based five outcome standards under the
themes of 'development, liaison and support' and 'representation and
strategic partnership work.'
To achieve success, VODA had to demonstrate how it
makes
a difference to the sector in a range of areas, including:
-
Improving service provision
-
Meeting the needs of the
community
-
Supporting organisations to
function
-
Facilitating effective
communication
-
Representing diverse views
As well as providing evidence and examples of this
criteria, VODA also had to undergo a rigorous external audit, which took
place on 4 July 07. During this, written evidence was examined and a number
of people interviewed, including VODA staff and board members.
VODA decided to work towards this new Award following the completion of level 3 PQASSO (Practical Quality
Assurance
for Small Organisations). PQASSO is a self-assessed system,
whereas the new Award is externally audited. It will enable VODA
to maintain the quality standards it has achieved to
date and it
demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement.
